Mi mañana, resumida en links a los que entro en lugar de escribir el ensayo que tengo que entreagar al medio día:
- Columnas de consejos (Receta para ser feliz)
People always say you have to make yourself happy. What goes into that? How does one make oneself happy?
Short, easy description of a long, difficult process: Figure out the things that make you feel confident/fulfilled/energized; that give you a sense of purpose or accomplishment; that tap into your natural abilities and strengths; and that don't put you at the mercy of any one person, and orient your life around those.
Often, this requires the separate step -- concurrently or as a precursor -- of reducing the role in your life of things that make you feel worthless/empty/exhausted; that don't excite you; that require skills that don't come naturally; that feel like a waste of time; or that put you routinely at the mercy of others.
Then, you make a conscious decision to be patient and flexible toward life, and break any habits of jumping to negative conclusions.
- Salma Hayek (paisana) crónica de una vida inútil, pero divertida, cortesía de alguien que se metió a su compu:
The glimpses into Hayek's life revealed by her inbox are fascinating, even if mundane: The stranger-suckling actress has been invited to America Ferreira's 25th birthday party. She downloads a bunch of iPhone applications from the iTunes App Store — and she gets spam from Apple, just like the rest of us. As for the perks of being famous, a driver was scheduled to meet her flight arriving in Abu Dhabi. American Express has given her a new Gold card. (What, she doesn't rate the exclusive black Centurion Card?) Balenciaga and Stella McCartney deliver designer clothes to her apartment. She schedules "Japanese face massages." And she gets scans of stories about her in the celebrity weeklies.
